Welcome to the website of the Rogue Techs. Here you will find info about our team and the First Robotics Competition.
We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate Sport for the Mind. High-school student participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
Under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense six-week time limit, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team "brand," hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team.
After making it through the first 6 weeks of the year, it’s time to demonstrate what teams have worked so hard to build.
Regional games are held worldwide during March and April.
Rogue Tech’s objectives are to try and attend a “Close to Home” regional game and a second “Travel” game per season. (Dates and locations are not available until early November/competitions usually run Thursdays to Saturdays).
Should Rogue Techs advance to the World Championships, that game is played in Houston in April.
We are more than just building robots…
Our team is comprised of just some of the following divisions.
· Computer Aided Drafting (CAD)
· Graphic Design
· Photography / Videography
· Business Development
· Game Analysis / Statistics
Rogue Techs is always looking to add new students and mentors to our team. Let us know if you are interested in any of the above listed divisions. During our off-season, June-December, Rogue Techs meet weekly to help train our new team members to be ready for our competition season, January-April. Not sure what you’re interested in, come by and try your hand at a few different opportunities.
